Principal's Corner
Greetings Church Street Community,
My name is Monica Goree, proud Principal of Church Street Elementary School (affectionately known as “The Church”). I am elated about starting a new school year with you as I embark on my 2nd year as the principal of Church Street, but also entering into my 28th year of education, all right here in Clayton County Public Schools.
I am excited about the upcoming school year! I feel confident that we will make great strides (again) as we work together to give our scholars “our” very best! I will utilize the wealth of knowledge that I’ve learned not only as a teacher, but also as a Literacy Coach, coupled with what I’ve learned from being an assistant principal for seven years and now in my 6th year as principal to ensure that we get “Back to the B.A.S.I.C.S.” which is “Building Academic Success through Intentional Classroom Strategies.” And we will do so by placing an emphasis on literacy and numeracy.
Therefore, as we continue our work together towards steady increases in student achievement, I ask for your continued support in what we do daily, at The Church. I also implore you to accept and embrace our motto and brand that asks everyone to, “Be the change you want to see at CSE,” because it is going to take all of us, as stakeholders, to make Church Street Elementary School the best elementary school in the district and soon to be in the Greater metropolitan area. I truly believe we can do this together. Finally, I stand ready to assist and support you and your families as we work together to Build A Better Tomorrow, Today! Now, let’s get ready to have a phenomenal school year! Email
